How long does it take to fill a bucket?

The average household takes between 7 and 10 days to fill a bucket. When fill, the 10 l bucket weighs approx 6-8kg and the 15 litre one approx 10-12 kg.

Where is the best place to store my bucket?

Buckets are best stored away from direct sunlight but ideally should be stored in a warm place to allow good fermentation to occur. In the hot water cupboard or under the kitchen bench are common storage areas.

What can I do with my food waste once it has finished fermenting, as I do not have a garden area?

You can give it to another family member or a friend who may have a garden. Some towns have community gardens and they are often willing to take it.
