PeopleNeville BurtDirector, Bokashi NZ Ltd Neville is the driving force behind the growth and popularity of Bokashi products in New Zealand. Born and raised on the South Island’s West Coast, he developed a passion for a clean, green environment at an early age and went on to study the earth sciences at University. With over 21 years experience in the horticultural industry, as well as running Bokashi NZ, Neville manages a horticultural property producing fresh, ‘certified organic’ vegetables – with the help of Bokashi products of course! Neville first became interested in organic farming when he met Mike Daly, from the New Zealand Nature Farming Society. They now work closely together to develop added value products for environmental and horticultural use. When not talking to householders, businesses, schools and councils about the benefits of Bokashi, Neville spends much of his time visiting old mining sites and has a strong interest in West Coast mining history, particularly that of gold mining. He also enjoys the outdoors, playing golf, mountain-biking and hiking; and uses his expertise to help community groups; he is on the Board of his community water scheme and is currently advising another organisation on Sustainable Living. Talk to the expert in recycling organic waste. If you have any questions for Neville, either about his passion for the environment in general or his drive to improve New Zealand’s environment through organic recycling with Bokashi products, then please do give him a call on 03 614 8122 or email
Neville is also available to talk to your community group or business organisation about environmental issues.
